NRC Rocks Out in Nashville with National League of Cities

-By Damema Mann-

National Research Center, Inc. (NRC) recently returned from our fifth year at the National League of Cities (NLC) Congress of Cities and Exposition in Nashville, TN. This conference stands as the largest gathering of local elected officials and staff in the country, and offers exceptional educational and networking opportunities to increase the effectiveness of local leaders. This year drew over 4,000 attendees from almost all 50 states, plus Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

NLC is a bipartisan organization focused on connecting officials to local government solutions, a fact reflected in this year’s huge conference attendance.  From small towns to large cities, everything is represented.

We enjoyed meeting local government leaders at our space in the exhibit hall alongside our partners from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). It was great to chat with elected officials from all over the country. Passion for local governments and helping make communities more livable for all residents drives us at NRC, and that’s something we certainly have in common with these public servants.

The host city is part of what makes the Congress of Cities a “must attend” event.  Nashville helped present the conference, creating and producing mobile workshops.  The city facilitated educational programming and experiences at the convention center, around the City of Nashville and the surrounding region.

Nashville is called “Music City” for a reason – live music played everywhere from the airport to the exhibit hall. While music is ubiquitous in Nashville, the local food is also not to be missed. If you find yourself there, head to Hattie B’s Hot Chicken – you won’t regret it!
