The Needham, Massachusetts Police Department continually strives to make the community safer and to provide an exceptional level of service to its citizens.  The Police Department is committed to working with the community to protect life and property, and to maintain a safe and peaceful environment for all.

The Needham Police Department’s commitment to community service is apparent. Officers and employees work diligently in forming partnerships with the community to provide a safe and secure environment and to improve the quality of life for its citizens. Jimmy Fund Festival

The Needham PD is involved in multiple community outreach programs, including:

  • Prescription Drug Take-Back Program – A medication depository is provided in the police lobby, plus a semi-annual drive for unwanted prescription pills. In 2012 the department collected and safely disposed of 715 pounds of unwanted medication.
  • Domestic Violence Action Committee
  • Traffic Management Advisory Committee
  • Car Seat Safety Check Program
  • Bicycle Road Safety Youth Program
  • Traffic safety plans and assistance for various civic and community events (road races, bike rides, school events, Needham Business Association fairs)

The Needham PD received exceptionally high ratings for police services – an impressive feat for any community. We are pleased to grant them the Voice of the People Award for Excellence in Police Services.
