Feds may be down, but local government still strong

In today's Government Management Daily came the headline, "Satisfaction with Federal Services Hits All-Time Low." Apparently the trend in Americans' satisfaction with the federal government has now dipped a point below its previous low from 2010. That's bad but no longer unexpected news.

The good news comes from National Research Center's The National Citizen Survey. In every year since 2002, The NCS gathered between 13,000 and 59,000 Americans’ perspectives about the overall quality of local government services as well as services provided by the federal government. The graph tells the big story. Americans vastly prefer the services they receive from their local governments and the trend is holding strong.
