NRC Places Fourth in ELGL’s 2017 Haverford Awards

Once again National Research Center, Inc. (NRC) is honored to be named one of the best companies serving local governments by the ELGL Haverford Awards. On the list of top 50 vendors, this year we are excited to move from the fifth to the fourth spot.

The 2017 Haverford Awards are presented by Engaging Local Government Leaders (ELGL). This local government umbrella organization acts to connect, communicate and educate working professionals about ideas and trends in the field.  ELGL members nominate the very best local government vendors, then in conjunction with ELGL judges, vote to determine the winners of the Haverford Awards.

Highlighting Exceptional Service

Tom Miller, Michelle Kobayashi, Damema Mann _ NRC Haverford Awards

Since 1994, NRC has provided scientific survey research and evaluative services for local governments and other public-sector organizations. Our comprehensive survey products, like The National Citizen SurveyTM (The NCSTM), have set the gold standard in community assessments. Our data collection process ensures accurate and actionable results that decision-makers can trust. Overall, NRC surveys have helped improve the livability of over five hundred communities across the nation.

Many of our client jurisdictions which are also ELGL members – like Westminster, CO and Pearland, TX – use their data to stand at the forefront of change and innovation. They have used their results to improve everything from trash handling to budget planning.

What NRC Client Communities Say

ELGL member cities often point out how understanding the opinions of residents leads to positive outcomes for the entire community. “It’s great to finally have data to quantifiably inform us about how we view Bloomington’s strengths and weaknesses,” said Bloomington, IN Mayor John Hamilton, quoted by WBIW.com. “The survey information identifying areas for improvement and possible future focus is incredibly valuable as we prioritize our work on behalf of residents every day.”

When nominating NRC for the award, one ELGL member city commented, “The [NRC] team is highly capable, trustworthy and committed to helping local governments uncover how residents feel about particular issues. Their staff are exceptional at translating the information into digestible reports and presentations.”

We often say that good government listens because we know municipalities that consider the voices of their residents create more inclusive and resilient communities. NRC is proud to be a part of making cities, towns and counties better places to live.
